Nime alias Jonas Petry (*1994) is a Leipzig-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, artist manager and festival co-director.
His musical interest focuses on the exploration, transformation and conscious modification of sonorities as well as rhythmic interweavings. His repertoire includes prepared drums, piano, daf, tonbak as well as natural and synthesised found objects.
Besides his solo project, he is part of Nadelør – an electroacoustic duo together with sound and media artist burgund t brandt, which is dedicated to post-serial music and Gutari – an electroacoustic noise duo along with sound artist Davide Luciani. Moreover he is member of the band Welten.
Petry is CEO of Habeatus e.V. and co-director of its annual project Seanaps Festival – Transdisciplinary Approaches in Experimental Music and Culture in Leipzig since it’s first edition in 2017. Since 2020 he works as the manager of the Berlin-based musician and composer Mohammad Reza Mortazavi.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Studies from the University of Leipzig.
